Try this tasty low-fat banana bread

This low fat banana bread recipe from Feed your fitness is a great way to satisy your sweet tooth


  • – 225g plain flour (plus extra for dusting)
  • – 2 large eggs
  • – 150g sugar
  • – 2 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • – 4 tbsp apple sauce
  • – ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • – 80ml whole milk
  • – 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • – 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • – 2 tsp baking powder
  • – ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • – ½ tsp salt
  • – 40g chopped walnuts



  • – Preheat oven to 160OC
  • – Lightly grease two 900g loaf tins with cooking spray, dust with flour and shake out the excess
  • – In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy
  • – Beat in bananas, apple sauce, cinnamon, milk, oil, and vanilla extract
  • – In a separate large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, and salt
  • – Blend the two mixtures together
  • – Fold in the walnuts and divide the mixture between the loaf tins
  • – Bake for about one hour or until golden
  • – Turn out the tins and allow to cool before eating
