Uber for higher

Self-flying taxi drones are set to be trialled in the Middle East.

If you caught the Super Bowl halftime show, in which a swarm of drones performed a dazzling synchronised display, you’ll know just what these beasties are capable of. That said, it’s beyond amazing to think that we could fly inside one. From July, the first self-flying taxi drones are set to take off in Dubai.

The super-sized Ehang 184 autonomous drones, with a range of 31 miles, will ferry passengers around the city like airborne Ubers. Brave souls can simply hop in, input a destination on the map, and mourn the lack of readily-available, nerve-steadying drinks in the desert.
